Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the FormatFox iOS application (the “App”) handles your information. The App is provided by Levin Schwab (Germany) (“we”, “us”, the “Developer”). FormatFox is built to be private by design.

1. Your files stay on your device

All image, PDF and audio conversions happen entirely on your device using your iPhone’s own system frameworks. Your photos, documents, recordings, and any other files you convert are never collected, uploaded, or transmitted to us or to any third party. We have no servers that receive your content, and we never see your files. Because all processing is local, the App functions fully even in Airplane Mode or with no internet connection.

2. Advertising (free tier) — Google AdMob & UMP

To support the free tier, the App displays a banner advertisement provided by Google AdMob, together with Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) for consent management. For this purpose, AdMob and UMP may collect a Device ID (the advertising identifier, IDFA) and Product Interaction data. This data is used for Third-Party Advertising, including tracking.

This collection is subject to your choices:

• On iOS, the App presents Apple’s App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. If you do not allow tracking, the advertising identifier is not used to track you.
• Where required, the App presents the UMP consent form, which lets you make consent choices for advertising data.

Buying FormatFox Pro removes all ads, and with them this advertising data collection. You can learn more about how Google uses data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

3. No account, no analytics

The App has no account and no login — you never create a profile or sign in. We do not use any analytics SDK or tracking tool beyond the Google AdMob and UMP components described above, which apply only to free-tier users.

4. App Store privacy summary

Consistent with the App’s App Store privacy “nutrition labels”:

• Data Not Linked to You: a Device ID and Product Interaction data may be collected for free-tier advertising.
• These are used for Third-Party Advertising and for Tracking.
• Your content (the files you convert) is not collected.

5. Children

The App is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location (for example, under the EU GDPR), you may have rights regarding personal data. Because we operate no servers and hold none of your content, the only data involved is the advertising data handled by Google for free-tier users; you can manage this through the ATT and UMP consent controls, or remove it entirely by purchasing FormatFox Pro.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
